(N/A) Prevention of diseases is more desirable than their successful treatment for the following reasons:
$(i)$ Having a disease can damage body organs, which may recover slowly or may never recover completely.
$(ii)$ Curing a disease takes time, and the patient may be bedridden for a long period, leading to a loss of productivity.
$(iii)$ An infected person can become a source of infection for others, causing the disease to spread in the community.
$(iv)$ Prevention is economically beneficial, as medical treatment often involves significant expenditure on medicines, hospital visits, and tests.
$(v)$ Prevention helps in controlling the population of pathogens, as they do not get the opportunity to multiply within a host.
$(vi)$ Prevention avoids the physical pain, mental stress, and discomfort associated with suffering from an illness.
